I know this is ancient history in fashion now, but if you follow me on twitter then you’ve long known that I made the 1 hour drive to Palm Beach Gardens to pick up a piece of the Lanvin x H&M collection. I was out at the Soho Beach House as mentioned in my previous post. I made about a 45 minute stop at home to shower, change etc then made my way to H&M at about 3:30 am. I’m not new to camping out for things but I usually have company. I’ve camped out for both the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 haha. Fashion wise I don’t think I’ve ever had to camp out for anything, though I have gotten up early to acquire things.
All I wanted was this lovely faux fur jacket and the sunglasses. Though I was first to arrive once the mall doors opened it was a mad dash inside to get to the front doors. A couple people were in front of me but they were all interested in dresses. Our H&M wasn’t stocked with a ton of items. My friend works there so she gave me the inside scoop and kind of a rundown on what was what. She also offered me the chance to go into the mall with her via the security doors so I could wait before everyone else was let in but I passed because I felt bad that my new line buddies would be left outside. I met a great guy who was so excited about the collection he had changed his iPhone wallpaper to the Lanvin logo and we shared great fashion find stories and he told me of his experience of shopping at Shop the Webster in Miami somewhere I’ve yet to visit since moving down here but will rectify next week.
Once inside (we were the first group) I snagged my coat and two lipsticks and then made my way downstairs (to men’s) to grab sunglasses while everyone else was still scrambling around upstairs. Unfortunately I was unable to procure the sunglasses. The store was only sent 10 pairs and if you were shopping the men’s collection you were allowed to just go in without any kind of order so when I got down there practically everyone was arguing about not getting a pair and there being no back stock. Though disappointed I managed to collect myself to snag the last tuxedo jacket for one of my line buddies upstairs. He was ecstatic, because he was upstairs in women’s still shopping for his sister and hadn’t even made it down to men’s yet. I also bought one of the UNICEF totes and the woman at the register gave me a dress bag even though I didn’t buy a dress. She was so pleasant. I returned home around 10 am and definitely crashed for a few hours, after all I had to do my last bit of prep work for my photo shoot with Julius.

You are too nice, but I’m glad you got a new friend out of it.
Supposedly they’re getting more Lanvin for H&M, but yours is so far away!

People always complain about waiting in line, but sometimes it can be really fun, right? It’s cool getting to chat with new people. I think you got the nicest piece from the collection- that coat is amazing!
