Hello Long Beach, California

Two weeks ago I was took a trip with Visit Long Beach! I’ve only been to Long Beach before back when I worked in conventions. My Long Beach experience boiled down to the inside of the convention center and my hotel room. So glad to get the opportunity to explore WITH the city. Pro tip: Follow me on snapchat / instagram stories when I’m traveling. I document the whole shebang, but you know the drill it’s gone in 24 hours.

trip â„… Visit Long Beach

I flew into the Long Beach Airport which is so quaint and cute, very different vibe from the hustle of LAX. I didn’t get my obligatory from the airport In n’ Out (a must in California) cause I don’t know Long Beach like I know LA. Little did I know the Visit Long Beach team planned to wine and dine me til I popped.

My flight got in early and my room wasn’t ready at the Hyatt Centric where we stayed. The hotel is right in the middle of a complex of shops and restaurants so I stepped out to shop right into Mattie of Mattieologie! I was too hype! I haven’t seen Mattie in a good two years, so it was great to reconnect offline. Plus having someone on the trip that makes me laugh til I cry is THEE best. Bonus, someone I can harass to take my picture that gets what I need is priceless. P.S. I really liked the Hyatt Centric, it had all the amenities I needed and a list of available ones I COULD need. Loved the bathroom and that bed was a DREAM every night I returned to the room spent from the day. Tbh they had me at bluetooth player and the Keurig. Small comforts man. I just like to feel like home away from home.

We started with a tour of Hotel Maya. Their lobby is a wonderland with the stained glass and the wood accents. Content creator extraordinaire @faithmari asked me to be her model in a shot in the lobby and I obliged. That shot ended up being my favorite the whole trip. After we toured the haunted Queen Mary and I acted a fool about it on Snapchat. It’s also a hotel, a hotel you won’t soon find me staying at. Don’t want to run into the Lady in Red in my lifetime. We had a deliciously fancy dinner on board which was a nice treat to wrap up the night.
