Hi! I have some exciting news! Well exciting for me and anyone in my immediate vicinity haha. This month I flew to Atlanta to become a Carvel Insider of sorts. I got to check out the headquarters, learn how the crunch we all love on the ice cream cake is made and more. I even got to make a batch of crunch to take home. That raised some questions from TSA at the airport but they let me slide 🙂
It was a small group of 3, which came as a surprise to us. Everyone uses the term “handpicked” but we actually felt it. So special! They put us up in a lovely hotel, treated us to breakfast, lunch and dinner with the team. Everyone was so friendly and you could tell that they’re all really passionate about their jobs. I loved each person, which is rare when you’re working on a campaign lol. We learned the history of Carvel (started by Tom Carvel with $15 he borrowed from his future wife!) and the day to day workings of the office. There’s so much you think you know about ice cream but don’t in reality. Like the difference between ice cream and ice milk, which shock is what a lot of establishments serve. I tried my hand at using the soft serve machine and making all sorts of different treats, I even tried to decorate a cake. Spoiler not as easy as it looks lol. I shared the whole trip on Insta stories of course so I hope you’ve been following. I’ve never gotten so many “I’m so jealous” messages in my life haha. I ate A LOT of ice cream OBVIOUSLY.
So throughout the year look out for me your friendly neighborhood Carvel fan. I’ll be eating the best treats, delivering cakes to my friends, and most of all enjoying the heck out of America’s Freshest Ice Cream.
