One of my girlfriends loves making cocktails for us girls, but is always asking for one of us to jump in and mix up cocktails and shots at her parties. I have never been the best at making cocktails on my own, but I’ve found a liqueur that makes it fun to experiment and channel my (very deep) inner mixologist! I’ve been dabbling a bit with my new favorite liqueur, Viniq, America’s First Shimmery Liqueur. My favorite flavor of Viniq right now is Ruby. The berry notes are super refreshing heading into summer and the unique shimmer dresses up a cocktail for any occasion, big or small. If you follow me on Snapchat, you may have caught a glimpse of its shimmering beauty along with the production of this post.
To conquer my quest to “bring the shimmer” of Viniq, I’ve adapted a Viniq recipe called the Shooting Star Kamikaze and made it my own with the ingredients I had on hand.
The Shooting Star Kamikaze Shot recipe calls for:
2 oz Viniq Ruby
1 oz vodka
1/4 oz lime juice
To start, make sure to chill all ingredients before serving. It’s already creeping into the 80s and 90s here in Miami on some days so the colder the drink the better for me. The recipe calls for the drink to be built in the glass and the Viniq to be poured last, however I’ve been wanting to use my new shaker so badly for something! So I built the cocktail and shook it up in my cocktail shaker. I used fresh limes and squeezed in my lime juice because I prefer that fresh taste. I decided to drop in an ice ball for aesthetics and a chill, then poured over my Viniq concoction feeling like a profesh bartender. Garnish with a raspberry and lime. Voila!
Do you like experimenting with cocktails? Next time, try any one of the Viniq flavors and share your creations with the hashtag #bringtheshimmer to see your drink concoction on next to mine! Make sure to check out Viniq.com for more recipe inspiration.
Thank you to Viniq for sponsoring this post. As always, all opinions are my own.

Maria TettamantiIt’s amazing what you can do when you actually have good help to execute your ideas. Tripoding a gif alone is a bitch lol. Tripoding a gif with two people…still annoying but definitely easier. Do not miss struggling to do everything by myself lol.
