[…] I attended the grand opening of designer Lorie Lester‘s boutique previously seen here. I had a lot of fun, the boutique is super chic and also serves as her design studio in the back […]
I had a lot of fun at this event. I’ve never been to a shopping event before but if they’re all like this I can definitely dig it. One of the event sponsors for the evening was Chevrolet. They had a Malibu, a Traverse, and a Suburban available for a test drive an hour before the shopping started all you had to do was sign up. The Chevy girls also provided yummy cupcakes after you finished your drive.
I didn’t drive because I wanted to ride along and take pics. My friend Michelle of Lipstick Ammo came down from Orlando for the fun and drove the Suburban. It was a really smooth ride and had all the best features like GPS, rear-view camera, satellite radio etc. After test driving it was most definitely shopping time.
Check out those necklaces from jewelry brand Cimber, the materials used for each piece are unique and. Also another favorite jewelry brand was Mali. I was definitely fighting myself since I’m technically on a shopping ban. I must have been in a jewelry mood all night because those were my favorite booths. I also liked Vintage Reign bags though which you’ll see in the gallery. One bag was recently featured in Florida International magazine which my friend Hailie works for. Very cool to see that and I wonder if she worked on that page.
I couldn’t resist buying this triple finger bar ring from Karma Couture. Michelle bought three rings. Their selection was so good and the prices were just right.I’m kind of disappointed with their website because it does not show their massive selection at all. They have so many rings that give me a Noir vibe. Have I mentioned I still need that octopus ring in my life.
Some of my local friends came out to the event as well and we absolutely loved everyone at the Sobe Wax booth. They were doing complimentary spa services like waxing and nails. There was also a raffle to enter and they gave us all goodie bags. Each bag had different items but mine contained a full size bottle of Essie nail polish in a super gorgeous pink (knockout pout) and Lord & Berry makeup. Sachiko pictured right got her hair curled at one of the other beauty booths.
I met so many wonderful and beautiful people as well. Cleo & Cat had amazingly unique pieces. Michelle bought quite a bit from them, I’m definitely jealous. I want to check out Lorie Lester which just opened, they had cute dresses and the designer is so cute (she’s in the gallery). Carolina Loyola had very elegant designs and a very elegant setup. I’m saving business cards for brands and designers I want to get more info on. I’ve got quite a collection so I’m sure spotlight posts will be in the future. Designer knitwear brand Krel was also setup. I didn’t care much for their setup or what I thought they were selling but after seeing their pieces on the runway on the first day of Funkshion FW, I’m kicking myself for not snagging something off the rack. Sometimes it’s all about presentation.
