Last weekend I made my way up to my old stomping grounds in Hollywood, Florida for a visit to the Diplomat Hotel. The Diplomat invited me to try one of their new dining concepts on property. I was lucky enough to visit Diplomat Prime.
This hotel is so big and I love the decor. Last time I visited it was for a spa visit. It was great to get a chance to visit and take in the decor and more importantly the food. We headed into the Diplomat Prime and I immediately love the moody, 1950s vibe. The leather chairs look so rich and inviting. It’s very much the quintessential steakhouse, with a list of options for steak. Our waiter was knowledgeable and able to answer all our questions as well as recommend things. Always a blessing.
We enjoyed a bottle of Sancerre. For appetizers the Wedge salad, the Octopus, and one of the specials before diving into the steak. By this time we were already full but there was no way I was coming to a steakhouse and not getting steak. Best decision of the night hands down. My steak was cooked to perfection and I took home what I couldn’t eat. After almost losing it to my boyfriend I very much enjoyed it the next day.
I can’t wait to get a chance to come back and try the other properties. Especially the happy hour options at Bristol’s Burgers and Portico Beer & Wine Garden. I love how all the restaurants have their own standout style. Check it out for yourself.
P.S. Parking is included when you dine at the restaurants, a refreshing break from Miami Beach parking nightmares.
