Dinner with Anine Bing in Miami

Wow so much has happened in the world in the short span of time between my last post and now. I did my last post on March 2nd and decided to self quarantine on March 9th. A lot of my events and projects started getting cancelled or postponed so I was able to begin earlier than most. It’s been 40 days! I can’t believe it. I leave my apartment 5 days a week in the morning for about 20-30 min to walk my dog and that’s about it. We do instacart for groceries and order in from local restaurants here and there. I’ve been on a total of 3 short drives to nowhere, for a change of scenery because Dan gets stir crazy. I am very privileged to be able to work from home. There are highs and lows but being an introvert has definitely helped with the way I handle things.

Like most people I have a lot more free time on my hands. Without events to go to there seems to be no excuse to not do the thing you’ve been wanting to do or whatever. I don’t like to put that sort of pressure on myself though, because what happens when you don’t do the thing. This is already a stressful time, I’m not going to add to that or disappoint myself. I rarely think…wow I’m bored, but if I were to there’s always something to do. Like share these lovely moments from dinner with Anine Bing in January. I shared some of these photos on Instagram and via stories of course but it’s nice to have these things here too. In a space that is completely my own, that I completely control, that I can look back if instagram ever goes kaput lol.

This was the first event for me for 2020 and I felt like wow this is such a dream! I thought oh yeah this is definitely setting the tone for the rest of the year. LOL. That may not have been true but it was lovely to meet Anine! I’ve been a big fan of her story and her brand for a long time. The terms “style goals” or “capsule wardrobe” make me think of her and her brand. We started with a champagne cocktail hour at the new Anine Bing store open in the Miami Design District. One of 10 stores she has all over the world. What an accomplishment. I love the store’s pared down aesthetic. Everything about it exudes an effortless cool much like her pieces. Below I’ve shared her dinner look along with some pieces I’d love from her latest collection.

After we had our fill of champagne we walked across the street to Swan for dinner. It was a two-table setup and I was lucky enough to be seated at the same table as Anine and her friends. Both she and her friends were lovely. They didn’t laugh at me too hard when I told them a few of the Swedish words I’ve been learning from Duolingo. Haha. My family lives in Stockholm and we all chatted about that a bit.

I hope you all are staying safe and please hug your loved ones you’re quarantined with extra tight. Call that person you’re thinking of because the next day they could be gone.
