Miami got a high-octane taste of Formula 1 when the race debuted here in 2022, and ever since, the city has fully embraced the thrill of motorsport. For the 2023 Grand Prix weekend, Italian sneaker brand P448 joined the celebration, launching their exclusive P448 x Scuderia AlphaTauri collection with a party that perfectly fused fashion and F1.

Set on the charming, pastel-lined streets of Espanola Way, the event kicked off at the P448 store, where we previewed the collab before heading next door to the Esme Hotel cocktails. The collection was created as the official travel shoe for Scuderia AlphaTauri’s crew, team, and drivers, blending streetwear aesthetics with motorsport edge. (At the time, the team was known as Scuderia AlphaTauri. They’ve now rebranded as Visa Cash App RB, making this drop a bit of a collector’s piece.)
One of the night’s highlights? Meeting the team’s drivers, Yuki Tsunoda and Nyck de Vries, who came out to greet fans and check out the space. I even had a chance to chat with Nyck (though he’s since parted ways with the team). Still wish I’d snapped a photo with Yuki, but that’s how it goes sometimes.
I’ll be honest, I came for the sneakers. But between the energy of the event and getting to meet the drivers, I left with a real curiosity about the sport. Even though I had attended the Miami Grand Prix in 2022, I wasn’t a full-fledged fan yet, but something clicked that night.
