Matcha is impossible to avoid these days, especially if you’re on Instagram. I was so curious about this green drink all over my timeline, I wondered whether I’d even like it. I typically avoid green beverages and anything good for me to be honest. Then I scored an invite to Yoko Matcha, Miami’s first specialty matcha cafe.
The cafe focuses on matcha tea drinks, coffee, and Japanese and Latin fusion style food items. I knew this was going to be the place I’d decide if matcha was something I could get into. Chié one of the owners was on hand to make the best recommendations and let us try all variety of things. Long story short, I’m a matcha fan! I’m surprised but everything was so tasty I couldn’t resist. From the latin pastries infused with matcha to the actual matcha tea, I loved it all.
Bonus, we asked about the name and found that Y?ko is actually Chié’s Japanese grandmother. You can find out more about Chié, Yoko, the cafe, and the menu on Yoko Matcha’s website here. Be sure to visit for Matcha in Miami, if you’re in the area, you won’t regret it!
