I don’t have a conventional 9 to 5, I do the blog full-time, but I do understand the need for wear-to-work pieces; I find the clothes I wear can have a huge impact on my mindset. New York really invigorated me style wise, because I was getting lazy here in Florida. Throw on a comfortable romper to hang out with the boyfriend or friends…no need to dress up. In comes fashion week and it’s basically a work week for me so I had to get down to business. I chose this great houndstooth high-waisted skirt from Express. I haven’t worn houndstooth since high school but something about this skirt really called to me. It was so hot this season so instead of sporting a blouse I chose this crop top and a lightweight knit jacket, also from Express. It’s really easy to take this look into the office, if you happen to work in one though. Switch the crop top out for a proper top, throw in some stockings or tights and a classic pump, you’re all set.

It’s so true! Florida makes me soo lazy with my dressing haha. I was telling someone the other day that I have to continue to overdress here so that I come off as casual in NY. The mind set is so different. Florida’s casual is NY’s lazy wear.
