This denim on denim situation was such a fun look to wear. It came together on a night I went to support another blogger hosting an event. Lately I go through spurts of intense feelings of invigoration and this was one of those moments. I grabbed an old Levi’s shirt out of my closet and I knew exactly what I was going to do with it. To continue the sort of off kilter look, I immediately thought of the Cmeo Collective skirt.

The look had me feeling myself for sure. I sent a quick snap off to the boy and he confirmed that I SHOULD be feeling myself. Once I arrived at the function, my friends and other guests definitely showed the look some love. One of the guests interrupted my quest for the instagram of the night. She wanted to know if my look was available in store right then and there. Unfortunately for her this was a mish mosh of old pieces in my closet with new life breathed into them. Fortunate for me her interruption and my reaction to it gave me my instagram of the night. Caught on camera!
When a look comes together in such an organic way, it reminds me of the old days of blogging. You know when people shot the looks they actually wore and not 5-10 looks in one day to trickle down post later. This post is still true to the inauthentic nature of blogging as it is now. It was dark after all and I didn’t have my photographer on hand. I shot this 3 days later with him and I love the shots so much. It was one of those I’m gonna rain but not days. It drizzled a bit just as we wrapped. Yet everything turned out perfect, the location, the tone of the photos, the debut of my hair. Well…it should have been the debut of my latest “curly q” style. A brand delayed the approval of a beauty shot I used from this shoot so I ended up posting from Lily’s wedding. Surprise hair change spoiled. Not a big deal, such is the nature of blogging in 2016. Nothing happens in the moment anymore and we all seem to rock with this highly curated version of life.
