Dare to Listen

I’m super into headphones. I’m on a constant quest to find the perfect sound for my tunes. JBL invited me to the Gale South Beach to their Dare to Listen event. I braved the icky weather to try out the sound on these puppies. My favorite things about these are they deliver great sound (great bass), they look great (especially in white). So what makes these different from any other pair of headphones; enhanced by proprietary LiveStageâ„¢ signal processing they deliver more of a live music sound to the listener. You can turn this feature off and on.

Currently I’ve been using my Beats by Dr. Dre Mixr headphones pretty much exclusively since receiving them. So here’s a bit of comparison, they are nowhere near as loud as my Beats, which is my favorite thing about the Beats. The JBL’s are a lot more comfortable however…and I will be mixing them into rotation. The Beats suction to my ears but start to hurt after a while. It’s pretty annoying actually for something so pricy to be so uncomfortable. The JBL’s have a very luxe feel, the leather is supple against the ear and very pleasant. Since the Beats suction to my ears, they’re great for intense motion, the JBL’s shift a bit but I never had plans to use these for intense activity. The JBL’s are also Android compatible (no one curr, iphone forever) and the Beats are made for idevices. These headphones also charge via USB cable instead of battery and continue to work even if not charged unlike some Beats out there that require batteries and cease to work when they are dead. Makes absolutely no sense to me.
