I Wanna Be Your Babydoll

I love to wear the occasional girly romantic dress. This Winter Lennon babydoll dress falls somewhere in that category while still being casual. Probably something to do with that raw edge detailing. It’s a great dress to wear during the day, though on this particular day I did end up carrying into the night. It’s a babydoll dress that doesn’t leave you looking like an actual babydoll.

Immediately when I sat down to compose this post, Mariah Carey’s Babydoll popped into my head. If my neighbors can hear me, I’m sorry in advance. The album this song is on is so freckin good and I still know every single word. Makes sense because I read the lyric booklet over and over again. I remember having the CD and unfolding the booklet to the poster and hanging it on my wall. Mariah Carey is just…iconic.

Anyway this dress does in fact wrap me up nice and tight with its halter neck and back straps. I remember when hi-low silhouettes were everywhere. Inescapable on a garment, I got burnt out. This is the first time in a while I’ve worn a hi-low piece and I don’t hate it. The mesh lining makes for a great light-weight twirl and who can begrudge that. Moderation is key. I think this would make a cute dress for a date. A daytime date, it’s romantic somehow or maybe I’m just a sucker. ðŸ˜›ðŸ’•
