On Track with TAG Heuer

TAG Heuer transformed Jungle Plaza in the Miami Design District into a full-fledged go-kart track. A luxury shopping district turned racetrack? So Miami, very chic, and very fun. I was invited to the media preview before it opened to the public, and stepping into the space felt like being dropped into the middle of a Formula 1 fantasy. TAG Heuer didn’t hold back. The setup was so well done, immersive, and the perfect nod to the adrenaline of racing culture. Naturally, they’ve mastered this lane.

Unfortunately, I had a Instagram vs. reality moment. My wig and the helmet were never going to be friends. Even with plenty of “don’t worry, it’ll fit” reassurances, I wasn’t about to risk a scene involving me, a stuck helmet/wig, and a wig cap. Since helmets were mandatory (safety first, always), I sat this one out and played cheerleader instead. Lesson learned.

Luckily, my friend who came with me and was ready to take the wheel. Her braids fit perfectly under the helmet, and she raced like a pro. She even beat previous best times and even landed on the leaderboard. By the weekend, the track had become one of the standout attractions of F1 Miami, even bringing DJ Khaled and his family for a spin.

Even if I couldn’t race, I showed up in a look I loved. I kept things casual and cool in distressed denim, sneakers, and my current obsession: a faux leather blazer from Avec Les Filles. I first scored it during my Saks Off Fifth campaign, and it’s been on heavy rotation in my Miami wardrobe ever since. Funny enough, denim has become my go-to lately, when I used to avoid it completely. The blazer is so good that someone literally tried to steal it from me last week. Needless to say, it’s not going anywhere.
