It’s been one of those weeks…for a few months now if you know what I mean. I’ve been spending a lot of time in bed, miserable with a huge lack of productivity. Not to mention my almost 4 week-long sickness. I’m really happy that I was given the opportunity to ring in the new year in an all new setting free of my usual surroundings. The Thompson Hotel Miami Beach invited me to their New Year’s Eve bash as their social correspondent and to stay for a couple of days. Problem, everyone I knew already plans. I jokingly texted my girlfriend Emily asking if she’d like to fly in from New York and accompany me. She totally shocked me by saying heck yes!

We had so much fun New Year’s Eve night, look out for more details on that in my soon to come party post. We took these photos on our last day at the hotel. If you follow me on instagram (@riamichelle) you’ll know that in between we hit the beach, we hit the pool, just really enjoyed everything this lovely art deco inspired property had to offer. I finally got to lounge around in this dress I’ve had for a few months now. Definitely felt like a little princess in her own little world moving around the garden’s native plants and stone paving. We were pretty much the only ones on property at this time so it was all an absolute dream.
