This post is long overdue. I think for my first official experience shopping vintage I couldn’t have chosen a better venue. Recommended to me by my friend Nikole, I made my way over to Bay Harbor to check out Hollen and Jen’s vintage showroom. Hollen and Jen’s is kind of hidden away in an unsuspecting building but it’s definitely not to be missed. Hollen and Jen’s features two closets, one for spring/summer and one for autumn/winter. From belts, bracelets, hats, boots, sandals, bags and on here are tons of accessories and shoes everywhere. I really liked the vintage magazines in the winter room, since I love collecting magazines. It’s a really nice touch to the ambiance of the place.
The clothing racks are extensive, definitely allot yourself time to shop as you will lose yourself. Combing through I spotted heavy hitters like Emilio Pucci (the purple dress I’m trying on in the shot), Oscar De La Renta, Gucci, Prada, Giuseppe Zanotti, Chanel and Lanvin for a fraction of the original tag. They also have really chic off label pieces too. Hollen (modeling a hat for me below) was so helpful while I shopped offering tips on how to wear different things I tried on, I ended up purchasing two pieces, an off brand black dress with a lace/crochet overlay and a Saks Fifth Avenue sheer floral shirt with lace & suede detailing. I’ve worn both pieces already but next time I do I’ll make sure to take photos and post them/link them to this post.
I experienced a spot of heartbreak when I decided I needed this pair of Roberto Cavalli sandals and they wouldn’t fit. They were so perfect with the knotted top and leopard base.
Hollen and Jen’s showroom is open to the public Monday and Thursday from 10 until 5 and available by appointment only on all other days.
