Though mostly raised in the tri-state area before moving to Miami, I’m not down with the cold. I go to spas and avoid cold plunges despite the promised health benefits. I’m not interested! Haha. When the chance to try a cryofacial slid into my inbox I will admit I hesitated. A cryo facial is a treatment that subjects your skin to extreme deep-freeze temperatures. Finally I decided “why not?” and booked it.
I love trying new beauty treatments and products, I wondered the whole drive over if this is something I’d fall in love with. The treatment promises exfoliation of dead skin cells, stimulation of new ones, and that you’ll look more awake etc in 12 minutes. Bonus reduction of dark circles by the next day, so you know I had to try it.
I went to Cryo Miami. They’ve dubbed their Cryo Facial, the FROTOX! They recommend it as a great end of summer treatment to help rejuvenate summer skin damage. The treatment is so quick, and I loved the effects. It’s definitely something I would like to do regularly. If Gigi Hadid is down, so am I. So how are you spending 12 minutes of your life under a -260 degree nitrogen stream exactly?
What It Does
The smooth flow of cold nitrogen vapor will close your pores, lighten dark circles around your eyes and make your skin feel noticeably tighter. The benefits to incorporating Cryo Facials into your beauty routine:Â

After my cryofacial, the technician offered me the chance to try full on cryotherapy. That’s where your whole body is submerged in a pod at -250 degrees fahrenheit for up to 3 min. I mustered up some more courage and took the ice-cold plunge; and I have to say, it really wasn’t that bad. Don’t get me wrong, I was thrilled to get out of there but I was impressed with myself for doing it and lasting the whole time. People typically use cryotherapy for muscle soreness, swelling and to speed up recovery. The most common form is the use of ice baths to reduce muscle swelling, soreness and speed up recovery. The Cryo Facial uses a similar principle, but is far more targeted to the face and neck. My takeaway, lots of athletes are doing cryotherapy and lots of models are doing cryo facials haha.

It’s great that you mentioned here that cryo facial helps you to achieve a smoother and clearer appearing skin. Due to the bad swings of the cold weather, I have been experiencing so much dryness on my face and it hurts sometimes, whenever I wash it with warm water. Hopefully, I can find a clinic that offers this service and try it for myself.
