Obsessing Over: Annie Bing & Kye F/W 2016

Ever since this runway look from Kye F/W 2016 made it’s way into my inspiration folder it’s been on my mind. I don’t quite remember where I got it but I’m obsessing over it. Cozy ’90s bae style. Right up my alley these days. Below I put together an Annie Bing heavy alternative, a wishlist of sorts. This isn’t sponsored, I just…want it, no I need it.

Kye is known for pop style streetwear from Seoul, Korea. Think a heavy ’90s influence, vibrant colors s and textures, and a grungy youthfulness. The distressed “band tee” in the featured look reminds me of my goth days in high school. My friends and I would tear up and customize or band tees to make them our own. This is a major trend at the moment. Though questionable whether the wearers know the bands they’re repping but whatever.

There’s something about this particular type of pink I’m drawn to lately. This vintage, light, baby, ’90s style pink. The silk/satin fabric looks so good in this colorway. It may be overkill but I’d love a bed set decorated with this colorway. The hardware and gathering on look is subtle but significant and I love that. It’s not gaudy, it’s just the right touch.

I’m having a moment with this kind of aesthetic. You can see that from my recent post, Hooked: On Souvenir Jackets. A key piece being the souvenir, or bomber style jacket. Mine as it happens is also made in Korea.

With this Kye look fresh in my mind, I found these Annie Bing Satin Track Shorts and a matching jacket counterpart. Boom! Sure it lacks the grungy flair of the Kye look but I love its simplicity as well. You can still wear it with a grungy band tee, or as I styled it with a delicate lace bralette. I didn’t include shoes in the collage, as they weren’t on my mind oddly enough. I’d go with all white sneakers (surprise to no one) or a sick pair of black ankle boots if you are wondering.
