Baseball caps are now affectionately called “dad hats”. With that unnecessary trend name, they’ve become mom jeans 2.0. I gave into wearing dad hats as an intentional aesthetic choice back in March. That’s actually when I shot these photos. How do you wear dad hats? Just put it on your head. They go with damn near everything.

I had an event appearance to make and there wasn’t a hair miracle in sight. Just this unworn Lacoste dad hat. I stuck my foot in the trend waters because I was going to a music festival and why not. I’m obsessed.
Now I don’t know if it was the loose curls, or Alex’s photos but I was feeling myself on this look. Normcore aesthetics don’t really do it for me, but #cozygirl is definitely my thing. You can’t be mad at being comfortable. Now that I’m on my first intentional dad hat “purchase” (gifted but I wanted it) and I’m lovin’ it. I needed something that didn’t feature a giant gator on it you feel me.
My advice to you if you want to try the dad hat trend. Neutral and light toned colors work best. Black, white, Beige, nude, baby pink, and baby blue for example. Quote hats like Rihanna’s NasaSeasons “I came to break hearts” are my favorite at the moment. Mine which you can see me sporting in the video I dropped on Instagram tonight says “Young Metro Trusts Me”. Extra amusing for me because I’ve actually met him and it takes me back to that hilarious experience. I want two from NasaSeasons at the moment in black and white. The boy just “put me on” to dad hats and ordered two for me and haven’t the slightest idea what to wear them with plus my head is huge lol. This definitely gave me some visual and written inspiration to say f*ck it and wear them.

I absolutely love this look! I have been on the hunt for a pair of overalls for such a long time and I have yet to find some I am in love with. I love how this shoot turned out, it is perfect for a more urban look but your outfit still pops. Dad hats for the win!
