Finally saying goodbye to the Maldives posts on the blog, at least for this first trip. We took so many photos, thanks for putting up with them all while I was there (if you follow along on instagram @riamichelle) and when I returned. It’s truly a magical place and it was the trip of a lifetime. Thanks to my friends who made every day unforgettable and allowing me to experience the adventure with them. Honestly the best way to celebrate a birthday. Nothing like the sunset out there, the stars are on another level completely, the water is mesmerizing, it’s a paradise. I’m definitely missing it.

Thanks so much to Luli Fama for letting me wear your smoking hot Beach Fever bikini and the Netted Mesh Cover-Up. I’m seriously thinking of ways I can wear that cover up out an about in daily life. :p

Mobile Diary: New York

Met up with my fave Arabelle, always a pleasure. Wish I could have stayed out longer.

Overall I had a pretty good fashion week. I got to see some of my favorite people, connected with my favorite brands, discovered new ones. Talk to me about Le Spec!! $90 sunglasses…unheard of such a steal for a crazy like me who spends quite a bit on sunglasses. At the shows I spent more time looking at the show, and less time trying to get that shot for instagram. The last thing we needed was another runway shot on Instagram.

Verizon Wireless let me use one of their Android’s to capture my nyfw moments. I learned having two phones in New York is better than one. I will also never utter a bad word about an Android again (other than the lack of emoji). I used the Droid Maxx and it is pretty freckin sweet. The screen is gorgeous, it’s intuitive and I love the swipe typing feature. Big thanks to them for letting me use their service AND the phone.

While I was in New York, I was annoyingly adamant about seeing Maya Hayuk’s installation at the Bowery Mural on Bowery and Houston. The colors are so vivid and I love the drip. I barely had time left on my last day but I managed to squeeze it in on Emily’s lunch break. It’s really a beautiful site to see on the corner. We quickly snapped a few shots and then ducked into the nearest Starbucks to warm up and hustle back to work. I had a flight to catch back to Miami in a few short hours. I’m glad I made the time, though I wish I could have taken a little more care and time to put an outfit together and take shots.

I wore this look for comfort and warmth. I knew I had to run around the city to various showrooms and meetings and then dash back to my friend Elana’s to head to LaGuardia airport. It wasn’t as hectic as it could have been and I ended up having ample time at the airport because there was no traffic. I know had I stopped by what would have been my last stop at the Panasonic Beauty Bar, it would have invoked Murphy’s Law and I’d have ended up missing my flight or something.
