Went out to run errands earlier last week and threw together this outfit which I ended up liking quite a bit. I had my camera on hand so I thought I’d take pictures while waiting for Yogurtland to open. It didn’t really work out due though. That’s why I look so displeased in these photos. Literally took four photos before becoming frustrated and calling it a day. Still like the outfit though so I’m posting anyway haha.
All smiles when I’m behind the camera lens…of course (yes I wore this twice lol). I bought this Forever 21 necklace 2 months ago. I thought it was so beautiful and very reminiscent of a ring I have from Made Her Think or Noir. I didn’t think much about it though until writing this blog post and I decided to try and find a similar necklace to link to. I went to Noir, Fallon and then finally Made Her Think before realizing my $14.50 necklace is actually a knockoff of a $345 necklace from Made Her Think. I’m not in any position to be purchasing such a trendy piece for $345 so I’m glad I could catch such a great steal. What’s your stance on knockoffs?

but Ria!! I like your face :3
I think it depends on knockoffs. I feel like I mind the least concerning knockoff clothes cause I usually don’t spend much on them in general. if it’s decent quality and doesn’t tarnish (in terms of jewelry) within a month, then yeah, I’m all for it. but there are certain items that look absolutely terrible as knockoffs. like for me, tokidoki purses. the patterns on knockoffs look sooo bad and blatant, and I would never spend money getting a knockoff. and shoes/boots! I’ve gotten a couple knockoff ones before, and it’s really just not the same as getting a better pair of shoes. the quality discrepancy is just terrible and not worth being cheap about sometimes.

Same here definitely depends on the knockoff for me. I generally stay away from shoe knockoffs but some of them are ok. Like the NYLA shoes I just got are great quality. I think you just have to be a smart shopper.
Matt brought me back some knockoff tokidoki bags from Chinatown in Calgary and they’re terrible! Omg the print is hideous and one of them broke after me putting stuff in them. Man o man. I definitely think paying for quality is wise but there is no way I’m buying a necklace for $345 at this point in my life…if ever. Seems so extravagant for me.

I definitely go for knockoffs, I simply can’t afford to spend that much on clothes and accessories! So cheaper options are definitely the go. Love your blog

love the look on you.. the skirt makes you look soo freakin tall!!
i have a love/hate with knockoffs… i think its great to have possibilities for looks for less and I know I’ve bought my fair share but they have to be done right. There’s so many bad knockoffs out there – especially in shoes – and it just doesn’t do it justice.
If you think about it though, the majority of the brands/stores that normal people can afford are inspired by the higher-end. It’s kinda what makes the whole industry.

I love this look! Now, I’m all for a good deal but I try and stay away from like noticeable knockoff’s like a Celine bag or Jeffrey Campbell shoes, I definitely keep it at jewelry. I honestly think if you like something, then buy it. I mean if it JUST SO HAPPENS to look like a $845 Dannijo necklace and you got it for $20, more power to you lol.

Like I def think it depends on what it is and the quality! Like in my personal opinion the one from Forever 21 looks better than the Made Her Think necklace. And no one has to know how much you paid for it and where it got it as long as it looks good, it’s a quality item, and it makes you happy… who cares! BTW, I love the look! I can never tie a knot in a shirt that will actually stay lol! So bravo!

Such a cute outfit, especially the sunglasses and the way you tied your shirt in a knot. I love seeing your mirror photos, too! Knockoffs are a catch 22, I like to buy budget-friendly pieces, but if I were a designer, I would not appreciate it. Knockoffs are so prevalent in the fashion industry, and it seems like the law has not caught up.

You look gorgeous, lady! Honestly, as long as the knock-off is not disgracing the designer, I’m for it…especially if its a trend or something way out of my price range. If it’s a classic piece, I think buying designer or vintage designer is more worth it in the long run.

THAT is a Forever 21 necklace?? Wow, that looks expensive. I reread that like three times, lol.
I’m typically not for knockouts but occasionally I like an ‘inspired’ piece depending on what it is.

Great necklace and bag! With knockoffs, I hate to love them. I feel like a bad person when I get something that’s too much like the designer version and then I don’t really wear it that much. But if it’s just similar to something rather that being an exact replica, then I think that’s better.

I love this outfit. And for knock off, I would do it for little trendy things, but never for classic or really well known items, like certain purses.
