Boot Camp with Bad Girls

A few weeks ago Oxygen network invited me to film a webisode to help a few of the ladies from Bad Girls Club with their fashion choices for dates. I was brought in as a fashion expert for Janae Bradford, Valentina Anyanwu, and Nancy Denise as they searched for a man during Oxygen’s Find Me My Man Bootcamp. It was a really interesting experience. Video always is. I was given a room full of clothing and shoes to completely rework the girls style for their dates. They needed a little bit lot of guidance on their path to finding a good man. Working with these girls was probably my most challenging (and a little scary) project yet. I like a challenge though. Back in January, Marie Claire contacted me to come out and pose for a little street style. I was already going to be nearby hosting the opening of Forever 21 so I had a double whammy reason to break out this awesome Style Stalker skirt. How sick are you guys of me wearing Alexander Wang and Style Stalker…I can’t help it haha.

It’s always really exciting to see myself in print. In this mostly digital age, it feels as good as writing/receiving a hand written letter. Thanks to Mark Lim for making me look nice after a long and rainy morning. When I drove home from shooting, I voxed with Lily (on the right next to me credited as Joselin Reyes ) to ask her what she’d be wearing and we had a good laugh that she too chose to wear a jumper with a black and white color scheme. I almost wore a polka dot button up with my look and she almost wore a white crop top. Can you tell we are friends or what?

What have I been doing recently? Oh you know giving interviews over coffee. Check it out! Hanging out on branded double decker buses with the team at Forever 21 and the gorgeous Shareen of Vintage Mavens. Eating copious amounts of Shake Shack. I was a bad influence with that one too creating myself a partner in crime from the F21 team. Don’t judge us! Celebrating the Grand Opening of the new Lincoln Road store on Miami Beach with fellow babes, Steffy & Amanda. Browsing the store with my giveaway winner and chatting about what looks best for different body types. Shooting a streetstyle….ya know bloggity blog stuff.

I shot this look for Société Perrier. It’s actually a two parter, I’ll post the second part when I actually wear it. You can get a heads up of course if you go check out the feature. Especially if you want to know about why I put these pieces together like I did.

I’m obsessed with this Style Stalker skirt, even though I just bought it recently I can’t remember where I bought it from but I’ve shopped Black Label Boutique before and love them and they have great sales. My top is from Nasty Gal and it’s sold out unfortunately. But I mean obviously, it was $38 and it’s pretty great. The purse is also from Nasty Gal and it’s sold out too…it was also $38. I gave a couple of options you could buy to get the look of the top and you can still find the bag in a different color at NG or at Pixie Market in silver but for a bit more.

I know I said I wouldn’t be blogging for the rest of the week but I’m taking a Basel break tonight to get some work done. My soundtrack of choice…Purity Ring…I’m obsessed. Grandloves is everything to me right now.

This is the second outfit I wore to shoot Brahmin’s Fall 2012 catalog with Mayleen. This was a really fall outfit for me so you know I was hot shooting this during the summer in Miami. If you haven’t been able to tell yet, this motorcycle vest is one of my favorites. I think I’ve worn it for every feature I’ve ever been/will be in. It’s faux leather but it’s one of the highest quality pieces in my closet.

I’m currently writing this post in the photo op room at DragonCon (where I work with the celebrity photo op room) so I’m basically shirking work to get this post out. I’ll be heading to MBFW and LuckyFabb on Tuesday so I’m not sure that I’ll be able to post very frequently. I’m sort of undecided on whether I’m taking my laptop or I’m gonna save that space for clothing haha.
