Showroom Dreams: Ainsley
I know most of you are not even thinking of Spring clothing but living in Florida sort of allows me to entertain thoughts of Spring clothes in November. I know most of California and Australia definitely feel me too. During NYFW I had the opportunity to visit the Ainsley/Qi showrooms. If you’re mindset is more Fall, cozy knits and pullovers Qi totally has you covered. Unfortunately I’m no good at photographing knits in any kind of appealing manner so do check out the website for their current collection and stay tuned for Spring. The print on that collared tunic (that I sorta want to wear as a dress) captivates me in a “I must possess this” kind of way.
Below you can peep the behind the scenes video of Qi Spring 2013.

Lace & Leather At BCBG
I missed the BCBGMAXAZRIA show brunching with Levi’s and LuckyFabb, which is probably my fashion week regret as I missed several other gems as well. Enough of my whining though…I can really get into what’s going on at BCBG. The harness situation is of course a favorite. I wore a harness during fashion week and had the look planned pre-show. I love the all leather, no metal harness style overlaid on these gorgeous dresses. The lace is superb and placed in the most perfect places. Here are some of my favorite looks.

I definitely urge you to watch the video if you haven’t already seen it. I love the atmosphere and the music. Until Spring 2013 check out what’s available from BCBG now below. You’re welcome.

I wanna say Rob’s wearing an Express shirt & tie
The day before Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week started, Blanc de Chine invited me to their Fall/Winter 2012 show. Before hand Rob & I decided to get some Boba (bubble tea) in Chinatown at Ten Ren’s. Since living in New York, I don’t think I’ve ever gone back without a visit to Ten Ren’s. You could say I’m addicted. After that we headed over to the show. P.S. It snowed! I haven’t seen snow in 3 years. Big deal for me.
My shots from the show aren’t my best but I like these 5. Blanc de Chine aims to bring out the inner beauty and the quiet elegance of a woman and I really think they nailed it with their refined pieces. Everything was very classic but had unique design elements. I enjoyed the show a lot, even a bit of the menswear. Some of the models walked around the cocktail party in their looks so it was great to get an up close look at some of the pieces.

Solange Knowles DJ’ing at Carlo Pazolini
Unexpected bonus end to the night, my friend Nikole invited me to Carlo Pazolini’s flagship store opening. Lots of famous faces and DJ’s but I was really excited to see Solange in person, since I’ve never seen her before. The fold up flats in my gift bag ended up saving my life a few nights later by the way. Fashion week is killer on the feet.

Minimalist Paradise
I really enjoyed the Parkchoonmoo collection. Draping excites me, white draping with asymmetrical cuts even more so. The first two looks above, I’d love to have on my body. You can see more of my photos over on my Flickr account. These are the best I shot.

FGI Emerging Designers Competition
Natallia Pilipenka
This was my favorite designer out of all the shows at the Bass Museum for the competition. She of course won the competition. So deserved. I loved her aesthetic. I would love that chunky sweater with the cutouts on the arms & the cagey tunic dress from the 4th picture below. I took really crappy pictures on this day for some reason as you can see above. I know exactly what I did wrong too and I’d never do that now. Oh the growth. Luckily for me I had photographer Simon Soong to fall back on so I still get to share with you guys some of the looks from the show and the other designers. I colored the photos to match my style.
Bambina by NV
I didn’t think this collection wasn’t cohesive enough for me. I only want to talk about what I liked though so below you can see the 3 looks I liked. They were my standouts and were completely different from anything else she showed. If there’s more like the below 3 then I’m down. Can you tell I love harnesses and cutouts, toss in a little leather and it’s love.
I didn’t include Scarabello or Alfonso Couture. Both are not really my style and though there were 3 dresses from Scarbello that I liked only 1 photo is useable. 1 there’s nipple slip so no, the other in every frame the model is doing something unacceptable with her face (this is a constant with her) or her eyes are closed. She really lacks runway energy and it’s upsetting. Scarbello has a Fall Winter lookbook featuring the dresses I liked but it’s unavailable on their website, it’s only on their facebook and the quality is awful so I won’t post it here. It’s so important to keep your sites as updated as possible, you never know who wants to use your images or talk about your brand. Alfonso Couture is simply not my style at all but I should say that they were last year’s winner.
YAY!
