Thumbs Up For LuckyFabb

Yes Diane, this is how I feel about LuckyFabb. It was an amazing experience. This was my first and it most certainly won’t be my last. The guest speakers were phenomenal, connecting with my fellow bloggers was awesome, seeing the different approaches the brands took with their suites to connect with us bloggers was so interesting and fun to participate in. From FabLibs with Sorel to Marshall’s “price is right” game it was a truly unique experience for me. I can’t wait to go back for seconds.

Look at Diane telling us what’s what. Definitely took a lot away from her panel. She is definitely a wonderful role model for women of all ages. So happy to have heard her insightful advice and heard her story.

The Kardashians (mother & camera crew in tow) also spoke on a panel. I’ve never seen an episode of their show, their panel wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Coco Rocha & Rachel Roy are both amazingly beautiful women who are incredibly well spoken, not to mention successful.

It was such a treat to see Ellie Goulding perform since I’ve been listening to her for a few months now after a recommendation by a friend. I took a quick video of one song. “Wish I Stayed” one of my favorites. It’s noisy in the background though because apparently people are rude.

Shay Todd Swim 2012 at Villa Vecchia

Last but not least right. I promised one more post on Miami Swim Week, this show was one of my favorites so I have the most content for it. It was a bit daunting and there is a Flickr upload for extra unedited runway shots if you are interested. This was an offsite event held at a private estate on Miami Beach. You may remember that I spent most of the day lounging poolside at this estate at the Beauty Bungalow for iRenew with Maria Menounos.

I really enjoyed Shay’s collection, from the perforated ruffle/draping on the bikini tops, to the cowl-neck one pieces and the burnt oranges/muted reds I became more enamored with each model’s strut down the runway. I also loved the hair on the girls, so cute. I saw a lot of braiding going on at basically every show I attended this season but nobody did pigtail ringlets like these so it was a nice to see something unique with the girl’s hair. Here are my favorite looks.

The first and last bikini’s are my absolute favorites and will definitely be on a wishlist in the future. I’m also having a white moment so the fact that there was so much white in this collection fulfills another 70s dream for me à la Robert Rodriguez back in May. The kaftans speak of innocence and a little bit of mystery. It’s just perfection for me.

If you made it this far in this post congratulations and thank you I know it’s long.

Primping with Simply Sensible

By Ria  //  Beauty, Celebrities, Local  //  12 Comments

Though I missed the South Beach Wine and Food Festival due to a prior work commitment, I did get to make it over to one event hosted by Simply Sensible, the Biggest Loser’s new gourmet, refrigerated meals. Within the Sagamore hotel Simply Sensible offered a beauty lounge with a great view of the Atlantic and a comfortable ambiance. I definitely had a “I love Miami” moment while lounging on the couches.

Chef Calvin Harris & Raquel of Rik Rak SalonKatrina Campins & Carlos Gomez

The idea from the mind of Miami native Chef Calvin Harris is genius, who doesn’t want a place to escape and get pampered during an event like Food & Wine. The Beauty Escape offered manicures, pedicures, eyelash extensions, hair, airbrush makeup, chair massages and henna tattoo’s by Rik Rak salon. Located in Brickell, Rik Rak is also a boutique and bar. I had a pedicure with a glow in the dark OPI nail color which looks oh so cool once the lights go out.

Calvin personally made sure I got to try one of the meals, while I was getting a pedicure and sipping on VOGA sparkling Pinot Grigio (which I’m now obsessed with). I tried the Mediterranean Chicken with Bowtie Pasta. I’m a picky eater so I was nervous about not liking the entrees but I really enjoyed it. I’ll definitely be stocking these in my fridge the next time I hit up my local grocer. P.S. – Sorry I look awful without makeup on but I knew I’d be getting eyelash extensions so I didn’t want to arrive all made up. Good thing too because I ended up having airbrush makeup done by Vanessa.

Hey hey, Nikki Novo I see you writing away. Nikki is the Daily Candy Miami editor. Now I have a face to associate with my email blasts. A quick cell phone shot I took after having my makeup done. Don’t worry I took proper photos later in the evening for an upcoming outfit post. All photos in this post are by photographer Manny Hernandez and I edited a few of them.

Some notable guests that stopped by to get pampered included: Gail Simmons (Top Chef), Carlos Gomez (actor, The Glades), Katrina Campins (The Apprentice, Miami Social), Belkys Nerey (WSVN-FOX anchor), Amara Sohn (WTVJ-NBC anchor), Christina Getty-Maercks, Jacey Birch (WPLG-ABC anchor), Susanne Birbragher, Maya Ezratti, Channing Norton, Megan Harris (Plum TV), Beth Landman (New York Magazine), Samantha Wells,  Kate Krader (Food & Wine), Liz Vaccariello (Reader’s Digest), Kiri Tattenbaum (Delish Magazine), Katie Sweeney (YumSugar) and Criselda Breene to name a few.

Life Post + a Hint of Inspiration

Love this picture so much. Everything about it is inspiring to me. So it’s been a hectic week. We’re super short staffed at work so I’ve been covering for a lot of people because I’m the only one with a completely open schedule. If I wasn’t at work making money I’d be home dancing, shopping, tweeting, blogging, gaming lol. So yay for productivity but it also means I’m not really getting enough sleep nor do I have time to lounge about like I’m used to…welcome to the real world eh? Fashion Week is quickly approaching in NY and everyone’s twittering about parties and such and I’m super bummed I won’t be in NY this time around. No parties for me. Blegh.

Rearranged my entire room the other night between the hours of 1 am and 4 am. Moved a Queen sized bed by myself and my dresser. Still have boxes to unpack from all my stuff I got out of storage. I’m going to need more hangers, I feel like I just recently bought hangers. I really do have a lot of stuff not even just clothing wise. It’s crazy. My old apartment was huge though compared to this one. I randomly get urges to rearrange my room and for some reason they always come in the middle of the night. It’s really about the only change I’m fond of and crave. How about you guys do you like to rearrange your rooms every few months just to mix things up?

P.S. – Eeep just realized it’s been a week since I last blogged. Bah I can’t let that happen again.

Love these images from the campaign preview. I really dig the way they used the lights. Her makeup is so pretty and this is the best I’ve seen her look in awhile.
