I’m in Makeup Heaven

By Ria  //  Beauty, Makeup, Outfit  //  33 Comments

My friend Soo was kind enough to send me samples of her Sugarpill loose shadows. Girl seriously hooked me up. Did I mention how thankful I am? Cuz I’m bowing down to you over here.

Soo’s makeup chart I based my look from

Unif Jesus Saves Tank Free People Micro Tap Pant

I felt pretty glamorous so I decided to snap some shots of my results. It’s a little sloppy because it was my first time using loose shadows in ages, not to mention my first time using makeup out of sample baggies. I’m always cautious using blacks on my lid, because I don’t want to look like I’ve been punched in the eye. Next time I’d go a little heavier on the black.

Giveaway Bobbi Brown Pretty Powerful

By Ria  //  Beauty, Brand Spotlight, Campaigns, Contests, Giveaway, Makeup  //  Comments Off

Another giveaway! Wow I’m on a roll lately. The lovely people over at Bobbi Brown are doing a great campaign that encourages every woman to realize that she is beautiful without makeup, but with a little it can make you feel like taking on the world. Check out Bobbi’s new blog for more info on being pretty powerful and beauty of course.

Someone I myself find pretty powerful is fellow blogger; Fashion Pirate. I got the chance to meet Arabelle during Fashion Week this year and it was so much fun. We’ve been “twitter friends” for awhile now. She’s young, she’s involved, she’s intelligent, and she’s got sick personal style. That’s hard to come by these days. I can’t even say that “I find” her pretty powerful, she is pretty powerful. She also runs a makeup blog called powder doom that has just been listed in the tumblr spotlight for fashion. P.S. – She digs Bobbi Brown.

Win this Bobbi Brown Pretty Powerful Palette. It features soft, wearable pinks and browns for eyees, lips and cheeks. I swear by my Bobbi Brown blush so I can tell you, you’re gonna love this. This palette is limited edition and inspired by Bobbi’s signature natural, healthy look.

To enter:
Tweet me at @riamichelle and tell me who makes you feel #prettypowerful!

I will draw one winner at random on October 26th, please make sure you include my handle @riamichelle and the hashtag #prettypowerful Good luck!

Giveaway: Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Lashes Mascara

By Ria  //  Beauty, Contests, Giveaway, Makeup  //  Comments Off

As a member of the Vogue Influencer program I was sent a tube of Lancôme’s Hypnôse Doll Lashes Mascara to experience for myself. The mascara promises luscious, flirtatious lashes with a unique, cone-shaped brush technology. The final claim is that with it’s rich velvet formula it allows for volumized, extended, lifted lashes giving you a wide-eyed look. I personally really like the mascara. I think it does a great job of defining my lashes and really giving them an oomph. I like the packaging and the wand. I have a decent base for lashes they’re not super long but they’re not short either. This really fans them out and makes me wanna bat my lashes whenever I look in the mirror. I tried to take pictures but I’m no makeup blogger, it’s harder than it looks kiddies. So I’m currently sitting here with mascara on one eye and photos I’m not happy with haha.

Lancôme Spokeswomen: Daria Werbowy, Elettra Wiedemann and Arlenis Sosa

As you know during Fashion Week, I attended Elettra Wiedemann’s pop up restaurant Goodness. In my gift bag there was a tube of this mascara. I knew the one from Vogue was on it’s way so you my lucky readers will be given my bonus tube so you can experience the wide-eyed look for yourself.

Enter below, let the form load. There’s no mandatory option, just enter in whichever manner you feel like it or all if you really want to up your chances.

Upward & Onward

I am no longer with Miami Fashion Blog. The lack of a car after my accident definitely contributed to my choice to resign among other things. I will continue to shoot streetstyle/people watching, but it will not be limited to Miami as I was with MFb and it will be posted here on the blog.

I love how appropriate this picture is for this post. I took it about a month ago after my shoot for Brink magazine. Dueces!

My makeup was done by my old colleague and friend Michelle Cameau. She’s also the beauty editor at Brink.

Mellow “come down” time for me usually means a date with my bedroom and my Skullycandy headphones.

Love the crazy light here (totally unedited), reminds me of the flawless lighting in this picture.

Rich Girl At Phillippe Chow

See that purple head in the corner, that’s ME! Haha, I was invited by Brian to come hang out at Phillipe Chow on South Beach while an ad for Rich Girl cosmetics was shot. The ad was photographed by Jordan Michael Zuniga. I ended up participating as a member of the paparazzi hounding Elisea Nir Wolff, the spokeswoman for the brand. Elisea was super sweet even when everyone was poking fun at the French (she’s French) being grumpy & snooty. She is also the head of the fashion and special events division at Muse Luxury Group.

I saw the final shot running in Cravings magazine (pg 72) but in black & white. She’s got a great eye, I mean look at her stunning Roberto Cavalli dress. A total knockout. She spotted my Vivienne Westwood Anglomania + Melissa three strap flats (mine are red) even though they are quite old. I don’t think I’ve met one person that’s known that those were VW+ Melissa.

I don’t know that I’d make a very good paparazzo, but here are some shots I took while I played pretend. As usual for all my picture intensive posts, you can find more photos on my facebook page.
